Youth with Promise Scholarship Program

The Youth with Promise Scholarship Program is being offered to disadvantaged young people ages 6 to 18. Students participating in this program will be riders who face economic challenges towards becoming involved in riding. According to the TN Commission on Children and Youth in 2024 33% of students in Roane County were classified as economically disadvantaged. Statistics given to Youth Villages, a local foster care program, indicate that there are approximately 1800 children in the Knox County, TN area in foster care. This program will essentially subsidize the cost of lessons in the Horsemanship Programs and camps to make them more affordable or free to youth who would not be able to participate otherwise.

Youth interested in the STRIDE Riders with Disabilities Horsemanship Program, the Blue Point Stables Horsemanship Program, or Blue Point Stables Camps are welcome to apply. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. When more qualified applicants apply than spaces are available, a lottery system will be used to ensure fair selection.
